We fly year round. Generally, anytime the weather is good is a good time to fly / hunt.
Right at the later part of winter / early spring before crops are planted is probably the “Best”. The next “Best” time would be during spring, right when , or right after crops have been planted … this is a crucial time for our landowners. Different times of the year present different challenges such as foliage & thick ground cover after spring, Deer season which prevents us from flying / hunting for the safety of ground hunters ( October-January) Extreme weather conditions such as winter cold (doors off + 100mph wind chill) & possible icing conditions for the aircraft = not safe.
No hunting license is required for Aerial Feral Hog / coyote eradication.
It is open season in Texas for feral hogs … 365 days a year.
Yes … as a general rule (insurance driven) ALL Crew / Shooters / hunters / participants onboard must be at least 18 years of age.
Absolutely YES. Safety is our absolute TOP Priority. G&T requires & provides our world class Aerial Marksman / Gunner course prior to any Aerial mission where live fire will be conducted. At the successful completion of the training course, all participants will be issued a certificate or card valid for up to 12 months.
We do not have a lodge or transportation. There are many hotel / motels available in our local area, & we recommend getting a rental vehicle upon your arrival to Texas.
Austin ABIA is approximately a 1 hour drive from our location in Temple, & Dallas DFW is about a 2.5 hr drive.

The short answer is no … Due to the way the Pork Chopper law & Federal laws are written we are not able to pick up or keep any of the kills.
G&T’s primary weapons are all bullpup style rifles & shotguns provided by Keltec Weapons. The Keltec RFB’s are semi auto chambered in 7.62 … Keltec RDB’s chambered in 5.56 … Keltec KSG pump shotguns chambered in 12 ga. All weapons provided by G&T are suppressed … Yes even the shotguns.
Full auto - select fire - belt fed weapons are reserved for our government clients with additional or documented training. Contrary to popular belief, full auto weapons are highly inaccurate for what we do.
While we have had some folks show up in shorts & flip flops we don’t recommend that type of attire. The appropriate attire depends on the weather conditions for the day … If it’s cold we recommend wearing multiple layers with the outermost layer being wind resistant ( remember that 100+ mph wind chill ) & moisture resistant.
When it’s hot a simple T-shirt or moisture wicking long sleeve shirt will work just fine.
We always recommend long pants and closed toe shoes / boots.
Caps & hats are discouraged during flight as the wind will take them away quickly.
Females with long hair are encouraged to have good hair ties, or put hair up in a bun, braided, skull cap / doo rag etc … This goes for dudes with long hair as well …
Wear your own favorite sunshades, glasses or other suitable eye protection during flight as to prevent any accidental eye damage. (Think bugs, debris while flying low, firearms gas etc …)
Also recommended but not required would be to have your own pair of light gloves to prevent any cuts or burns during the activities. (Mechanics type gloves)
*** Bright colorful Hawaiian shirts are always a plus on any flight ***
Add an answer to this item. With our current aircraft we do not have room for a videographer with 2 shooters onboard. We have also gotten away from outboard mounted cameras (risk management)
We recommend bringing your own GoPro or similar camera for video recording during the flight. (Bring a backup battery) A head strap for camera mounting usually works the best … while the weapons have rails where video equipment may be mounted we generally refrain from those mounting options … If the mount fails & the equipment falls, well it’s pretty much gone … ask us how we know.
